A Dinosaur Lover’s Dream, this pipe is first in a series of Jurassic interpretations

Gilazaura; Gila from the ‘Gila Monster’, and zaura; a play on sauros from the Greek, meaning ‘lizard’ -- melding of fanzania and high-grade pipe collecting brings forth this Briar Allosaur/Stegosaurus fantasy combo!

For those who need to be properly corrected, this pipe is a FAT dinosaur -- it is not Godzilla! It is a cross between Allosaurus and Stegosaurus, merging fantastic attributes of both!

I have received numerous requests for one of these fully sm*kable high-grade dinosaur pipes. My answer is always the same; it takes a very long time to carve one, and I may make one for a personal collection on a pre-order basis. There are no pre-made dinosaur pipes -- each one has to be custom carved. If you think you might like one, preorder one today!

	SPECIFICATIONS: Approx. 6” long,. Bowl Diam: 2-1/4”. Plug hole: 3/4” x 1-1/4”. Mediterranean Plateaux Briar with Perloid Lucite Stem. Stamped and numbered. Optional case is velveteen lined, leather wrapped and made of wood.

Cost to acquire the materials and hand-carve the Gilazaura pipe is $1085. without fitted case, and $1513. with fitted case.

Case lining color will vary depending on sources, as will type of leather binding. Case must be custom made and fitted to each pipe.

None of these pipes are ‘made up’. There is a two month pre-order turnaround time. First come are first served, as only one can be completed at a time.

My efforts with this website are to raise the interest in, of course, my hand carved Briar pipes. I have the fantasy pipes and the Danish Freehand pipes -- all of these are made from high quality Mediterranean Plateaux Briar with striking grain that you would expect from a high-grade pipe. Many of the stems I use are hand-cut; however, I often like a certain look of a perloid or tortois acrylic resin stem, or bakelite. Vulcanite stems are nice on the bite, but not too interesting to look at. I have also experimented with my own casting, and the effect is fantastic. The process requires the use of a pressurized tank to eliminate air in the casting during cure time.

Smoke rings are a fascination of mine, and a good, cool-smoking pipe will make nice rings without too much moisture holding them heavy in the air.

All of my drilling bits are custom fabricated on ends, to ensure precision and best contour. Special attention to draft hole junctures result in superior airflow and reduced moisture from condensation. Beauty should never sacrifice precise mechanics and we can all learn this lesson from nature.
